In 1998 when Google first launched, the idea of Search Engine Optimisation was completely unheard of. There was little reason back then - and during the early part of the millennium - for people to be logging onto their computer. Even as recently as 2007, only 61% of households had access to the Internet. In the past decade, the way we use the online world has changed dramatically - led largely by social media and search engine innovations. Businesses can't afford to ignore SEO these days.
