MENTAL HEALTH

Our team has (unfortunately) had a catalogue of personal experiences to serve as a reminder for why mental health isn’t just a priority - it’s at the core of what we do.

Mental health should be a universal priority. It’s not just about individual well-being—it’s about caring for the mind, the engine behind everything we do. Despite this, stigma still surrounds it. Break an arm and you get support; struggle mentally and the response often falls short. That needs to change.

#BRAIN

At Aphra, we refuse to accept the status quo when it comes to mental health. Just as we’d treat a physical injury with urgency, we believe mental well-being deserves the same level of care and attention. That’s why this year, we’re making it a core focus of our client work.

We’re looking to partner with those who share our vision: a world where mental health is openly discussed, actively supported, and fiercely protected. Whether you're aiming to empower individuals, improve workplace wellness, or build stronger, more compassionate communities—we're here for it.

Our mission is bigger than awareness. We want to spark real change, helping people live healthier, more balanced lives and shaping communities that are empathetic, resilient, and strong.

This isn't about chasing trends—it's about meeting a critical need. Join us in breaking the stigma, advancing the conversation, and building a future where no one has to face what we and our loved ones have.

How We’re Making a Difference

Creating safe spaces

We’re dedicated to fostering environments where it’s okay to not be okay. Whether it’s in the workplace, in our partnerships, or in our campaigns, we’re advocating for open conversations about mental health. No stigma, no judgement — just real talk about what’s going on and how we can support each other.

Championing work-life balance

Burn-out is real, and it’s not something we’re willing to ignore. We’re promoting practices that prioritise balance, flexibility, and time for self-care. It’s not about working less; it’s about working smarter, so that everyone can bring their best selves to the table without sacrificing their mental health.

Weaving mental health into our work

From campaigns that raise awareness about mental health issues to initiatives that support mental wellness, we’re integrating mental health into our projects and partnerships. We’re committed to using our platform to break down barriers, challenge misconceptions, and make mental health a priority in every space we touch.

#JoolsLAW

When we saw Ellen Roome, a bereaved mother campaigning for changes in the law surrounding access to children’s data on social media to help protect their mental health and save lives, it was an unquestionable project for us to lend our skills to. The urgency was applied when the UK government announced their petition site was being suspended within a week due to the upcoming election, and Ellen had only days to find the necessary 100,000 signatures to inspire change. What happened next was a global movement, which has since caught the attention of Prince Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation to raise awareness of this issue.

MAKE YOUR DAY

We know that loneliness is rife in our communities - but never was this more of an issue than during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many residents felt unsafe about leaving their houses after the restrictions were lifted. We were commissioned by Colchester City Council to strategise, design, and execute a campaign - later known as ‘Make Your Day’ - to encourage residents to return to their favourite local haunts in the community once it was safe to do so. The comprehensive multi-channel creative campaign included spoken word poetry, a social media campaign, leafletting, digital marketing, radio adverts, and achieved resounding success.

ALONgSIDE mental health, WE ALSO FOCUS ON:

  • It’s not rocket science - although maybe if it was, more wealthy men would’ve invested their money in it (!) —but we believe everyone deserves equal treatment. That means equal pay, healthcare, rights, and opportunities for all, regardless of gender or identity. It’s something that shouldn’t require campaigning, especially in this century.

Yet here we are. Committed to building a just society, we recognise that systemic inequalities persist, disproportionately affecting marginalised communities. By focusing on social equity, we aim to amplify underrepresented voices, advocate for policy changes, and bridge gaps in opportunity and resources. We’re committed to changing that. Whether your goal is personal growth or building stronger communities, we want to work with you to promote healthier, more resilient, and empathetic lives globally.

    Let's get equal!

  • Aphra (the agency, not the Renaissance author) was founded by a determined entrepreneur with vision, passion, and relentless drive. Some might call her a ‘hustler’. Our journey as an agency has inspired us to help others embark on theirs.

Entrepreneurship fuels innovation, economic growth, and job creation. By supporting entrepreneurs, especially those from underserved communities, we aim to build brands, remove barriers, and run campaigns that empower individuals. Our goal is to dismantle barriers, provide essential resources and mentorship, and foster a culture of creativity and resilience.

We’re committed to changing that. Whether your goal is personal growth or building stronger communities, we want to work with you to promote healthier, more resilient, and empathetic lives globally.

Hustle me up - i'm there!
